Corbett Lighting

Corbett Lighting has some fabulous light fixtures on their new website. We've recently used some of their fixtures in a fabulous home in Palm Desert as well as some economically-friendly fixtures in model homes in Rancho Mirage. Take a few minutes to browse their site- really great photography on their installations! Corbett is California-based, and has been in business for over 40 years, using materials such as hand-made rice paper and rare metals in their unique fixtures.

Pendant Lamps Over Nightstands

A practical solution in a bedroom where there simply isn't the horizontal surface space for a bedside lamp is the pendant light fixture. Normally found in an entry foyer in a grouping, as an accent light, or functional as overhead spotlighting above a bar or kitchen island, the pendant light is equally at home and stylish in a bedroom. I'm a fan of the pendant light in any home interior, and we use them often for interior design projects in Palm Springs, but we're seeing more of them in use in the country club communities of Palm Desert and Rancho Mirage.

A Bright Idea

I'm trying hard to find a replacement light fixture for our showroom (our brancholiere sold). It's not an easy task because I keep getting distracted from my task and am sucked into looking all all sorts of lamps that aren't chandeliers...

LaCor Sea Urchin Lamps

We fell in love with these "Sea Urchin" lighting fixtures from LaCor, and so did a client of ours. We're installing a cluster of these for a celebrity client in the Vintage Club. I can't wait to see them installed. The fixtures are made of a cast resin with "chopsticks" set into them and takes a low-wattage bulb.

Worlds Away Furnishings and Accessories

Just got my hands on the Worlds Away catalogue, and love so many of the items in it, I don't know where to start. They have a great selection of iron side and console tables that are finished in gold leaf or polished nickle...the gold is absolutely beautiful. I was also impressed with their selection of lighting fixtures and casegoods- check them out!

Tight Timeline Update: 2 Weeks to Go

With our deadline of November 1 approaching, most everthing is falling into place. In case you didn't check out the last two stories, we took on a project for a client that we had done a home with before. We were given about 6 weeks to complete this 4000 sq ft home in La Quinta. We haven't really run into anything that would prevent the owners from taking occupancy for Thanksgiving.

The tile that has been installed throughout the house, all the wiring has been completed for the new lighting plan, the media center in the living room has been framed out, and the new hearth is nearly complete. The furnishings are arriving at our warehouse, and we're looking forward to installing it all soon. Before that happens, though, the painters will have to finish their work!

Great Lamp Choices from Arteriors

Great lamps are hard to find- they're like picking out ties- you either love them or hate them. Whenever we're stumped about choices for tabletop or nightstand lighting, we go to the Arteriors website- they always have a lot of great choices, a great range in pricing, and something for everyone's tastes!

Kentfield Wall Sconce

The Kentfield Collection sent me some additional items for their catalogue in our library. I absolutely LOVE this one. It's called "On the Rocks" by designer Sherry Williamson. It would be really fantastic in a dark, moody powder room!

Chandelierious!

We are in love with this chandelier that we've installed in a client's dining room in Eldorado Country Club, Indian Wells... It us made of hand-blown glass "bubbles" suspended on shiny steel cables that pick up the high-intensity lighting from above- now, to get some artwork on those walls! Our Interior Design firm loves turning a client's home into their Dream Home!
